Women Who Code Announces Re-Launch of DEI & Tech Podcast

The World’s Largest Community of Women in Technology Is Producing a Program to Highlight Tech Industry Leaders and Trends Across Multiple Communications Platforms
ATLANTA — SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2021 — Women Who Code (WWCode), the international organization dedicated to inspiring women to excel in technology, is re-launching its podcast in a multimedia format across multiple platforms with a new format, style, and content. This show will feature discussions between technology industry leaders on topics including trending innovations, the state of the industry, professional journeys, the future of work, and ways to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Women Who Code podcast has existed in an audio format since 2016 when WWCode Board Member and Senior Engineering Manager at Google, Tara Hernandez, started broadcasting in a volunteer capacity. Over the course of the next 4 years, she was able to produce a show that highlighted women in the tech industry and showcased both their insight and their accomplishments.
The Women Who Code Podcast relaunch will see Tara passing the torch to the WWCode HQ Team who will be applying professional production and editing to the show, while also making it available in both audio, and video, as well as across all social media platforms. This is part of the organization’s community campaign strategy to create an integrated content platform that will highlight women leaders in tech and give them a place where their voices can be heard and amplified.
The first five Women Who Code Podcast episodes in the re-fresh are scheduled to be interviews with Monica Blaylock, Engineering Manager at DoorDash, Honey Williams, Senior Director of technology at Liberty Mutual Insurance, Erica Lockheimer, VP of Engineering at LinkedIn, Anusha Rutman, Technical Support Engineer at Adyen, and Alex Fox, Engineer at Warby Parker. The talks range from in-depth discussions of technology and organizational processes to management advice, and career journeys.

The Women Who Code podcast is the latest addition to the inspirational and educational content that WWCode puts out throughout the year. This includes the CODE Review newsletter which has 100,000 subscribers, and which has given away over $4M in scholarships and conference tickets, as well as the WWCode Blog which hosts more than 700 articles featuring inspirational stories of women in tech, as well as technology insights from industry leaders.
