JAX London Conference 2019

I was recently given the opportunity to attend the JAX London conference at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London by Women Who Code. I was beyond ecstatic because not only does a 4-day ticket cost over £1000(steep I know!) but I had wanted to go for many years being a Java Software Engineer myself. I have highlighted my experiences across the four days(yes, including food pictures)below and will hope that after reading this, you feel you attended the conference with me.

The conference was spread across 4 days with 2 full workshops days and it was very much a developer-focused with a heavy emphasis on Java, GraavlVM, and Security mostly around the JVM eco-space. I will recommend attending at least once in your career.

What I enjoyed the most about the Conference apart from the food, of course, is the Java 9–13 workshop by Michael Inden which gave me hands-on experience playing around with the latest features, networking with industry colleagues, insightful talks by David Delabassee on GraalVM by, Dr. Carola Lilienthal’s talk on Refactoring and Troubleshooting Real Production Problems by Ram Lakshmanan

Day One

The first day of main conference full of enlightening talks and keynotes

After, the festivities and games of the night before, we had more talks and keynotes.

Day Four

On the final day, I attended the Blockchain Workshop from the guys at Web3j.
